Hello and welcome back to the blog. Thank you for choosing to spend time with us and please know that you are extremely valuable and that God loves you. If you prefer to watch the long form video (49 min) click here. For short form video (7 min) click here.
To be completely transparent, this blog post might ruffle some feathers so be prepared. I get pretty passionate in some spots throughout the article. I just want you to know that I am not trying to hurt anyone or slander anyone but sometimes I feel like tough love is necessary.
Today we are going to dive into the Second Coming of Christ and Judgment Day. In this presentation we are going to bring 2 WMSCOG subjects into one for the sake of simplicity. Essentially we will look at subjects “Coming on the Clouds and 2nd Coming and Judgement” all at once. Now why does the WMSCOG teach these separately and what exactly do they teach?
We will break this into 4 parts as usual.
What is the WMSCOG teaching in regard to the Second Coming and Judgement?
What are the earliest origins of this teaching?
What does the bible say compared to the WMSCOG teaching?
Our conclusion. This one may surprise you as I half agree with this one. You will see why throughout the article so stay tuned.
Now what is the WMSCOG teaching regarding coming on the clouds, the second coming and judgement? I will give a brief rundown on what they believe.
The WMSCOG believes that the second coming and the judgement day are two separate events. They have a few arguments to present this case.
1st. They believe that Jesus did not fulfill everything his first coming, therefore he must come again in the flesh to complete the prophecies.
2nd. They believe that every Church except theirs is corrupt and that salvation was completely lost, so Christ must come in secret in the flesh to restore the lost truth before Judgement day.
3rd. They believe that the description of clouds in some contexts of the bible literally means flesh, in fact they say that Jesus came on the clouds the first time. Meaning that coming with fire has to be completely different since the appearance and purpose is different.
4th. They also believe that the bible prophecies point to the timing of Jesus' 2nd coming being completely different compared to Jesus coming for Judgement, therefore they believe Christ appears in the flesh before He comes as Judge with fire. Specifically speaking Christ comes after 1945 in the year 1948 and the Judgement happens later.
About the first argument, some of the prophecies we have gone over at this point are King David, Root of David and New Name. We will cover Melchizedek, Last Adam, Seal of God and others in later articles. To be honest the majority of my channel is devoted to the first argument so if that interests you please stay tuned for more articles.
The second argument of the truth needing to be restored is going to be a very long tedious explanation and may probably require several articles examining that argument alone. So we will put that off for now.
That leaves us arguments 3 and 4. So let's dive into it.
What are the earliest origins of this sort of teaching?
If we go back to the "Divine Principle" written by the founder of the Moonies in 1951. Chapter 6 entitled “Second Advent”. But I am just going to make quick references to it. Link will be in the description if you would like to read it yourself.
Reverend Moon also taught that Daniel 7:13 was about the first coming of Jesus. He also referenced Luke 18:8 that when Jesus comes again to the earth that He won't find faith. He continues saying that coming on the clouds in great glory is spiritual not literal. He also makes the point of Revelation 1:7 where every eye will see him, is not literal but a parable. Also Reverend Moon uses Hebrews 12:1 to prove that clouds mean flesh. He goes on to mention that Christ comes as the Last Adam.
So this is not new teaching. I would argue this was first taught by the Moonies in the early 1950’s.
Now that the origin is out of the way, let's examine the teaching of the WMSCOG.
Now what verses of the bible does the WMSCOG use to prove that clouds are flesh?
Proverbs 25:14
Like clouds and wind without rain
is one who boasts of gifts never given.
Here we see like clouds without rain is one who boasts of gifts never given. Let's see another verse.
Jude 12
These people are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm—shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted—twice dead..
Here again we see the same expression. They are clouds without rain. Now it appears that the bible is saying clouds equal flesh or man. Lets see some more verses about clouds.
2 Peter 2:17
These people are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them.
False teachers are likened to mists or clouds just like in Jude.
Hosea 6:4
“What can I do with you, Ephraim?
What can I do with you, Judah?
Your love is like the morning mist,
like the early dew that disappears.
Love is like the morning mist, or clouds.
Ecclesiastes 12:1-2
Remember your Creator
in the days of your youth,
before the days of trouble come
and the years approach when you will say,
“I find no pleasure in them”—
before the sun and the light
and the moon and the stars grow dark,
and the clouds return after the rain;
Old age is likened to clouds returning after the rain.
Job 30:15
Terrors overwhelm me;
my dignity is driven away as by the wind,
my safety vanishes like a cloud.
Job’s safety vanishes like a cloud.
I think that is enough for now. The reason I am showing you these verses is because I think that principle behind these verses is the important part. Not the cloud reference only. For instance we can see Proverbs 25 is talking about hypocrites, Jude is referring to characteristics of false prophets to recognize them.
Peter is giving examples of false teachers to recognize them. So on and so forth which I think is the most important part the writers were trying to portray. Not that clouds they referenced are some sort of secret prophecy about flesh. The writers of the bible used poetic language to amplify the points they were trying to make. My point here is that clouds are a common metaphor that is used to describe something.
Now that being said technically the WMSCOG is right that the bible teaches clouds represent people or flesh in a somewhat indirect metaphorical way. To say that clouds doesn't would be to deny the words of the bible which is not what we do here.
Now the reason why they use it is the questionable part which we will get into later. However, that doesn't mean we stop our study and cut the blog right here. If you are reading this and editing it for your church I am specifically talking to you right now.
So we have established that in context yes clouds are a metaphor for flesh or people.
Here is the issue. Does Jesus come “like a cloud” or on the clouds? This might seem trivial at first glance but this wording has extremely different meanings and has potentially damning consequences.
If you don't believe me, read the “Mystery of God and the Spring of the Water of Life”. In the Green Book Ahnsahnghong makes it very clear that if you don't understand the coming of Christ correctly you will be destroyed. I wholeheartedly believe that he is right about that. Then we must carefully consider the words “coming on the clouds” and “like a cloud”.
Now let's see some verses about Jesus' second coming in regards to the word cloud or clouds.
Matthew 24:30-31
“Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
Here we see that the people of the earth will mourn when they see the son of man coming on the clouds of heaven. Now three things to bring attention.
We clearly see that Jesus comes on the clouds not like a cloud or even in a cloud. So the context of Proverbs 25:14 and Jude verse 12-13 don’t apply to Jesus' second coming even if the words “like a cloud” do mean flesh since He comes “on the clouds”. We don’t need to add or take away, don't go beyond what is written.
Some more points I would like to point out in Matthew 24.
If Christ comes in the flesh in secret and it is not the awesome cataclysmic event described in the bible. How can ALL the people of the earth mourn when the second coming takes place if it's a secret coming and they don't know about it? The bible literally says ALL the people of the earth will mourn when they see with their eyes. Then how can ALL people of the earth mourn at the same time when they see it if it is a secret coming?
This example might be bleak so forgive me but it proves the point. Let's say you have a relative that unfortunately suddenly passes away. Do you mourn that very second it happens? No, because you have no idea it took place. You mourn after the news is delivered and you are aware of the situation?
Then it would mean that the people of the world are aware of Jesus second coming, which is why they are able to mourn. You can’t mourn if you aren’t aware of what is happening or going to happen. Now if everyone is in the hospital when that relative passes away then you can say we all mourn together when we all saw it happen.
Also if you look at Lk 21:26 it says people will faint with terror and Rev 1:7 also says that all the nations of the earth will mourn. How can these be fulfilled if Jesus comes in the flesh in secret and no one knows, how can they mourn or faint with terror at His coming?
The Greek word for “clouds” here is nephelōn which is the plural form of nephele which literally translates to an actual cloud. In Rev 1:7 the bible uses the same word as well for clouds, nephelōn.
I want to reiterate again. Is the bible telling us Jesus is coming like a cloud or on the clouds? There is a very big difference here. Even in Rev 1:7 it says Jesus is coming with the clouds not like a cloud.
I know I seem like I am looking too much into this, but like I said extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. What can be a greater claim than this? This is literally a matter of Heaven or Hell.
Now let's see some verses about God coming to judge the world.
Isaiah 66:15
See, the Lord is coming with fire,
and his chariots are like a whirlwind;
he will bring down his anger with fury,
and his rebuke with flames of fire.
Here we see the lord is coming with fire and he comes with fire and a sword for judgement.
Zephaniah 1:14-18
The great day of the Lord is near— near and coming quickly. The cry on the day of the Lord is bitter; the Mighty Warrior shouts his battle cry.
That day will be a day of wrath— a day of distress and anguish, a day of trouble and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness—
a day of trumpet and battle cryagainst the fortified cities and against the corner towers.
“I will bring such distress on all people that they will grope about like those who are blind, because they have sinned against the Lord.Their blood will be poured out like dust and their entrails like dung.
Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of the Lord’s wrath.”
In the fire of his jealousy the whole earth will be consumed, for he will make a sudden end of all who live on the earth.
Day of destruction, darkness and gloom. The earth is consumed by fire.
Malachi 4:1
“Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the Lord Almighty. “Not a root or a branch will be left to them.
The day will burn like a furnace, but the saved will prosper. We will talk about Elijah in a different article so just hold tight on that.
1 Thessalonians 4:16
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
We see God coming down from heaven, with a loud command, with trumpet call, then the dead in Christ rise. Also see John 5:28-29, 6:39-40 for reference.
1 Thessalonians 5:1-3
Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
The bible says no one knows the time. Paul says it will happen like labor pains, then when people say “peace and safety” it will come suddenly, reiterating that no one will know so be ready.
Matthew 24:36
“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Jesus says no one knows the hour.
1 Corinthians 15:51-52
“Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”
We will be changed in an instant, at the last trumpet.
2 Peter 3:10-13
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.
Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.
The day of the lord is like a thief, the heavens will disappear and the elements will melt in the heat.
I apologize for all the verses but I think it is important to understand the full scope of the day of the Lord. There are many verses to show about this but I think we are sufficient here.
Here we can see various detailed descriptions of God appearing as the judge. Now are there any similarities between Jesus 2nd coming and judgement that we can find in these verses we just saw.
Notice how in 1 Th 4:16 and 1 Cor 15:51-52 Paul references the trumpet call announcing Christ's arrival? We see that Jesus sends out his eagles with a loud trumpet call at his second coming according to Mt 24:31.
Let's see.
And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
Now I was told that Matthew 24:31 is about the second coming. But according to Paul the trumpet signifies when Christ comes on Judgement day. So that would imply the trumpet calls are referring to the same event right?
Also Peter talks about the heavens disappearing, in Luke 21:26 Jesus said that the heavenly bodies will be shaken. So this too would imply that the second and judgement are the same event correct?
In all the verses we see that Jesus is coming from the same place. He is coming down out of heaven, in some cases with fire and with or on the clouds. Nevertheless he is coming from the same place which is the sky.
When we compare what is written in Matthew 24:4-51 before Christ appears on the clouds. We can see very compelling similarities when comparing all the above verses to the timing of events, the status of the world and the overall tone of the Second Coming.
In Matthew 24:29 it says immediately after the distress of those days, Luke 21:26 people will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming in the world, the heavenly bodies will be shaken.
I know a lot of WMSCOG members who are still reading will be thinking right now to yourselves. “But isn't Jesus' second coming and Judgement different in purpose? Can God come as the Judge and save at the same time?”
Yes, honestly it is not much different then how you see Judgement day right now. God comes with fire to judge the wicked and gathers the saved right? That is two different purposes with one coming. All I am saying is that the second coming and judgement are the same event.
Not only that but let's see another verse in the Old Testament to confirm.
Exodus 13:21-22
By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.
The Lord appeared in a pillar of cloud and a pillar of fire on the same day. He didn’t make a pillar of cloud and fire but God was the pillar of cloud and of fire. God can be both.
But let’s not stop our study here. What about the timing of things?
Luke 21:28
When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.
Here WMSCOG loves to utilize this verse. They say see! When the son of man comes your redemption is drawing near, not that it is here. However, that is a critical error. The bible says when these things begin to take place lift up your heads. These things imply not just one single event but events happening in a certain order. If it said when this thing begins to take place then we could say a single event like maybe the second coming.
However it is talking about multiple events happening one after another. The bible says when these things start to happen one after another then you should lift up your heads because your redemption is drawing near. Then what are these things that Jesus said to look for? If you Luke 21 verses 8-28 you can see all the things we must look for. Jesus even reiterates this same point in verse 31 by using the analogy of the fig tree. We will cover that here in the next article so hang tight.
Let's turn our focus to verse 25.
“There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.”
Here we see a sign in the Sun, Moon and Stars. Let's see another verse.
Matthew 24:29
“Immediately after the distress of those days
“‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.”
Again a sign in the Sun, Moon and Stars but in greater detail. Let's see one more verse.
Rev 6:12-14
I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.
Here we see the exact same signs in the Sun, Moon and Stars. Now I know the WMSCOG says that these signs are the same and they refer to WWII, especially when talking about the stars and the figs which they refer to as the Holocaust. But let's see what the scriptures say about these signs.
Isaiah 13:9-13
See, the day of the Lord is coming
—a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger—
to make the land desolate
and destroy the sinners within it.
The stars of heaven and their constellations
will not show their light.
The rising sun will be darkened
and the moon will not give its light.
I will punish the world for its evil,
the wicked for their sins.
I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty
and will humble the pride of the ruthless.
I will make people scarcer than pure gold,
more rare than the gold of Ophir.
Therefore I will make the heavens tremble;
and the earth will shake from its place
at the wrath of the Lord Almighty,
in the day of his burning anger.
Here we see signs of the Sun, Moon and Stars. But what is it referring to? God says He will punish the world for evil and the wicked their sins. Sounds more like Judgement Day than the Second Coming the WMSCOG talks about. But I was taught that the sign in the sun moon and stars was WWII and that was the sign of the Second Coming? But it doesn't sound much like the purpose of saving souls and restoring truth does it? It sounds like God is angry and coming to punish everyone. But God didn’t come as Judge at that time. The bible says the heavens tremble and the earth quakes. Very similar to what we see going on during Judgement Day right?
Let's see.
Isaiah 34: 1-4
Come near, you nations, and listen; pay attention, you peoples! Let the earth hear, and all that is in it, the world, and all that comes out of it!
The Lord is angry with all nations; his wrath is on all their armies. He will totally destroy[a] them, he will give them over to slaughter.
Their slain will be thrown out, their dead bodies will stink; the mountains will be soaked with their blood.
All the stars in the sky will be dissolved and the heavens rolled up like a scroll; all the starry host will fall like withered leaves from the vine, like shriveled figs from the fig tree.
Here we see that the sky will be dissolved, the heavens rolled up like a scroll, the starry hosts fall and figs fall from the fig tree. Just like Rev 6 where it describes the 6th Seal being opened. The WMSCOG teaches that this is WWII and that the stars and figs that are dying are the Jews being killed in the Holocaust. However is this about the Jews only? Verses 1-2 says that this is about God’s wrath on ALL nations, not just Israel. Again the overall context of this verse seems to describe Judgement Day. Basically it sounds really really awful.
Here is where we are going to take a hard left turn in the article. Lets see a verse really quick.
Joel 2:28-31
“And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
I will show wonders in the heavens
and on the earth,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
Here we just read the verses the apostle Peter quotes on the Day of Pentecost if you read Acts 2:16-21. In verse 30 God says he will show wonders in heaven and on earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke verses 31 it says that the Son will turn to darkness, the moon to blood red before what day? The great and dreadful day of the Lord.
Also if the 6th Seal is a sign before some secret coming of Christ that is secret restoration. Then why does Joel and Apostle Peter say that this happens before the great and dreadful day of the LORD? The only way it makes sense is if the second coming and judgement are the same.
If you read Acts 2:16-21 you can see Apostle Peter said this was fulfilled on the Feast of Pentecost right? Then I have one question. Did WWII happen at that time? Of course not. If Rev 6:11-12 and Matthew 24:29 where the bible talks about the sign in the sun, moon and stars is WWII then what was the fulfillment of the same sign Peter described in Acts 2? I don’t recall anything physically cataclysmic happening on Pentecost. My point is that the signs in the sun, moon and stars is NOT WWII.
Indeed the signs in the Sun, Moon and Stars indicate the coming of God as judge aka the second coming. But considering what we know about what Peter said on Pentecost and reading the book of Joel. It would imply that the doomsday cataclysmic terminology Peter, Joel and Jesus used might not be literal events but rather poetic in nature.
Now up to this point you may still have a lingering question in your mind. “Didn’t Jesus come on the cloud His first coming according to Daniel?” Let's take a look at the prophecy.
Daniel 7:13
In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man,[a] coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence.
Now Daniel says in my vision at night. Then what is the vision? We need to see the whole vision in context. Let’s start with verse 1.
Daniel 7:1-2
“In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream, and visions passed through his mind as he was lying in bed. He wrote down the substance of his dream.
Daniel said: “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me were the four winds of heaven churning up the great sea. Four great beasts, each different from the others, came up out of the sea.”
Then Daniel proceeds with 4 beasts. As you know are Babylon, Media Persia, Greece and Rome. Let's skip to verse 8.
“While I was thinking about the horns, there before me was another horn, a little one, which came up among them; and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. This horn had eyes like the eyes of a human being and a mouth that spoke boastfully.
“As I looked,
“thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat.
His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool.
His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze.
A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him.
Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him.
The court was seated, and the books were opened.
“Then I continued to watch because of the boastful words the horn was speaking. I kept looking until the beast was slain and its body destroyed and thrown into the blazing fire. (The other beasts had been stripped of their authority, but were allowed to live for a period of time.)
“In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man,[a] coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.
Here I am going to speak strictly in WMSCOG terms through this next bit. Here we see the 4 beasts, the fourth beast being the Roman empire hence the 10 horns. Then the little horn appears which is the Roman Catholic Church, Pope or Papacy. Which is the Beast in Rev 13 and Babylon in Rev 17&18.
Then the Ancient of Days takes His seat, Court sits, books are opened. Then the beast was slain and thrown into the blazing fire. Then the son of man comes on the clouds of heaven and approaches the ancient of days, this son of man was giving authority, glory. All nations and peoples will worship him, his dominion and kingdom are forever and will never be destroyed.
Now let's read the interpretation:
Daniel 7:15-28
“I, Daniel, was troubled in spirit, and the visions that passed through my mind disturbed me. I approached one of those standing there and asked him the meaning of all this.
“So he told me and gave me the interpretation of these things: ‘The four great beasts are four kings that will rise from the earth. But the holy people of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will possess it forever—yes, for ever and ever.’
“Then I wanted to know the meaning of the fourth beast, which was different from all the others and most terrifying, with its iron teeth and bronze claws—the beast that crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left. I also wanted to know about the ten horns on its head and about the other horn that came up, before which three of them fell—the horn that looked more imposing than the others and that had eyes and a mouth that spoke boastfully. As I watched, this horn was waging war against the holy people and defeating them, until the Ancient of Days came and pronounced judgment in favor of the holy people of the Most High, and the time came when they possessed the kingdom.
“He gave me this explanation: ‘The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will appear on earth. It will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth, trampling it down and crushing it. The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. After them another king will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings. He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws. The holy people will be delivered into his hands for a time, times and half a time.[a]
“‘But the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever. Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be handed over to the holy people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.’
“This is the end of the matter. I, Daniel, was deeply troubled by my thoughts, and my face turned pale, but I kept the matter to myself.”
Here we see the meaning of the 10 horns are ten kings. Then a little horn appears and wages war against God’s people. Then the ancient of days comes.
The little horn has power until the court sits and then his power is taken away and completely destroyed forever. The ancient of Days comes pronounces Judgement in favor of God’s holy people. God’s people received the Kingdom forever and ever.
That is the interpretation of the dream. Now let's analyse. Does the son of Man appear before or after the beast or little horn? He appears after. This means that this is referring to the second coming Jesus not the first coming Jesus.
You can see a similar thing happen in Rev 18 with the destruction of Babylon also who is the Beast but in Rev 19 you see the rider on the white horse appears who they say is Ahnsahnghong. But the beast, aka Babylon aka Papacy aka RRC Revelation 13, 17 & 18 appears first before the second coming Christ appears in Revelation 19 aka the Rider on the White Horse. Just like in Daniel chapter 7.
Now I know people are going to say that some things are not in chronological order. However Daniel chapter 7 is one vision and its interpretation, not several visions right? So it is safe to say that it is chronological, otherwise Daniel 7 would not make sense because it is a timeline of world history. It also matches the pattern of events in the book of Revelation so make of that what you will.
Let's analyze Daniel 7:13 then.
Now that we know the full context of this vision lets see who this son of man is. Most scholars interpret the Son of Man here as Jesus himself. Then considering what we have discussed thus far, is it first coming or second? Does the son of man come on the clouds before or after the little horn appears and the beast is destroyed? As we have studied He comes after. If the little horn or the beast is the Roman Catholic Church then based on this evidence the son of man coming on the clouds afterwards referenced in Daniel is second coming Jesus who comes to destroy the Anti-Christ, is it not?
But let's look into it further. This son of man coming on the clouds was given what? Power, glory and authority. That is the same as Mathew 24:30 when Christ talks about Himself coming back with power and great glory.
Now the bible also says that men of every nation and people of every language worshipped Him. However was that the case during Jesus first coming? No it wasn't, Jesus was only sent to the lost sheep of Israel reference Mathew 15:24.
It wasn't till after Jesus ascended to Heaven and the early Church received the Holy Spirit on Pentecost that the Gentiles started being preached to Acts 10:27-37. So this is clearly not talking about Jesus first coming but His second when all nations and people of every language will have indeed worshipped Him.
One final point on this I would like to make is that the bible clearly says that His dominion and His kingdom will never end. Also the bible says that in this vision the people of God will receive the Kingdom forever and ever. If this prophecy is about his first coming then it means the people receive the Kingdom after the 4th beast which is Rome.
When they receive the kingdom the bible says they receive the kingdom forever. However that is a problem considering the WMSCOG say the truth was abolished and there were no people of God on the earth after 325 ad. Then how can the people referenced in Daniel 7 receive the kingdom forever but then have it taken away when the kingdom was destroyed in 325 ad.
My argument is you can't have something endure forever and it can be destroyed or ruined at the same time. Meaning if this is about the first coming Jesus reign should not have ended after 3 years. The kingdom of God on earth should have remained and these people would have possessed it forever. But WMSCOG says Zion, Truth and Kingdom were essentially non-existent after 325 a.d. Doesn’t make any sense and is contradictory.
What does make sense is that when the second coming Christ appears He will destroy the anti-Christ and the beast and bring His kingdom. At that time God’s people will possess it forever and His kingdom will never end. This mirrors what happens in Revelation. Therefore the son of man in Daniel 7:13 is the second coming Christ not the first.
It would make so much more sense for the WMSCOG to teach that Ahnsahnghong is the “one like the son of man” in Daniel, it fits a whole lot better than trying to slam the first coming Jesus into. Time to turn in your sermon book 4 folks, we need to reprint them.
Jokes aside, even if they did change it to that from now on, there is still a glaring problem. They would have to give up their teaching that Jesus came on the clouds His first coming. Which would make problems for them proving that Ahnsahnghong “appeared” the same way. So I guess choose carefully because you can’t have both.
To wrap this all up lets see another verse in the new testament.
Acts 1:9-11
After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”
Here we see Jesus went up in a cloud in His resurrected body. Now what did the angel say? Jesus will come back in the same way you saw Him go into heaven. He ascended into heaven and a cloud covered him. Take a few seconds to watch the animation on the screen. Jesus goes up and disappears in the clouds. Then if we reverse it like the angel said, what do we get?
We get exactly what Jesus described in Mt 24:30. That same Jesus who was crucified and resurrected will come back on the clouds and judge the wicked. Then why did the angel say “Men of Galilee why do you look up at the sky?” First WMSCOG teaches this proves He will come in the flesh and that those who look up will only meet God who comes with fire. I would like to provide another solution. I think the angels are implying that the 2nd Coming is going to be so obvious that you wont need to look up all the time to make sure you don't miss it. Meaning it will be impossible for you to miss His second coming.
Also WMSCOG believes that Ahnsahnghong will come back to earth and judge the world with fire on the Last Day. They always talk about Fathers footsteps being right at the door, especially when there is news of disaster. But if Ahnsahnghong’s body is still here, who is coming back? Jesus went up into heaven with His body and with that body He will come again to judge the world at His second coming. That is what the bible says. Then if Ahnsahnghong is coming back, what form will He come back since his body is still here?
Ahnsahnghong died as was buried and his body is still there to this day. It is important to note that the WMSCOG celebrates the day Ahnsahnghong died as his sacred ascension day. However the bible never talks about ascension to mean you died, are buried and your body decays. On the contrary the bible says that God’s holy one will not see decay Psalms 16:10. If that is the case please show me the verse where it says that ascension means to die, be buried and decay.
I am about to ask a million questions right now so buckle up.
Isn’t Ahnsahnghong the holy one? Then why would he see decay? What happens to Ahn’s body? Will Ahnsahnghong resurrect first, then go to heaven and then come back to Judge the world? Or is Ahnsahnghong going to destroy his body completely when he comes to judge the world? What form does he come back in if his body is here on earth?
If ascension actually means that you die and are buried, then wouldn’t that mean everyone who has existed has technically ascended? Wouldn’t that make Ahnsahnghong’s ascension not special at all? What is the difference between ascension vs someone just dying? If ascension means being buried and decaying then wouldn’t that nullify Jesus’ actual ascension or what would you describe Jesus' ascension as at that point?
I would be very curious to know what the WMSCOG answer is as I think these are valid questions to ask. I know they are going to show Micah 4:9 which is fulfilled by Jesus first coming but more on that later.
Jesus went up to Heaven, alive, in His resurrected body. Then the angel said that the same Jesus will come back in the same way He went up. Meaning Jesus body is NOT here on earth it went up to Heaven. So if Ahnsahnghong is the second coming of Jesus, what happened to Jesus' body that went up into Heaven the first time? If Ahnsahnghong is that very Jesus, he should have come back with that same body no? If you are still not sure, watch this animation.
Now I know what you might be thinking “earlier you said Jesus will come back down in His resurrected body, doesn't that mean flesh, was that a Freudian slip”. No it wasn't a misspeak. That is what the bible says. However the bible says that SAME Jesus will come back in the same way He went up.
My argument is that WMSCOG implies that it somehow means that Christ is going to be conceived and born. Meaning that Christ coming is in secret. That is not what the bible says at all. The bible says that the same Jesus will come down out of Heaven the way He went up. Which yes He was in the flesh. But that same Jesus will come down out of Heaven in His resurrected body on the clouds of Heaven to judge the wicked and save those waiting for Him.
My argument is that WMSCOG picks and chooses what they want, mixing it with a little truth and creates something contrary to what the bible is trying to tell us. You will see this time and time again if you read my articles.
I am not arguing that Jesus comes in the flesh, I am arguing how He appears, when He appears and the timing of His appearance in the bible does not match what the WMSCOG teaches. They manipulate the scriptures in a way that proves their doctrine instead of just trying to understand what the scriptures are saying. You can see this with King David, New Name and many others.
Another point I would like to make on this subject. Let's see Matthew again.
Matthew 24:20-21
Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.
Here the WMSCOG loves this verse to prove the Sabbath Day. The WMSCOG teaches that this verse proves that we should keep the Sabbath Day even until the last day. Why? Because when is there going to be distress unequaled from creation and never to be equaled again? The last days.
In fact they teach we should pray to God that the last day when God comes to judge the earth with fire doesn't happen on the Sabbath so that we can keep it holy. Meaning that this verse has the context of the last day or last days according to the WMSCOG. Keep that in mind as we continue reading.
Mathew 24:22-26
“If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you ahead of time.
“So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.
Here we see the words if those days had not been cut short no one would survive, don’t the words “if those days” mean the last days? Also it reads “for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened”. Don't the words “those days” also mean last days? Of course they do. The WMSCOG teaches this as well.
But in verse 23 it says “At that time” meaning what? Of course it is talking about “those days” or in verse 21 as we saw “for then there will be great distress unequaled and never to be equaled again” right? So “at that time” means “last days” if in the “last days” someone says “Look, here is the Messiah!” or “There he is!” Jesus clearly told us Do Not Believe It. Then what does the WMSCOG say? “Look here is the Messiah or There he is”! They are directly going against the words of Jesus.
Jesus said “if someone says” clearly telling us that people in the last days will either claim to be the Messiah or testify about a Messiah. If the words of Matthew 24:22-26 don’t apply to the last days, then the verses regarding the Sabbath in verses 20-21 don't apply to the last day either. However if the verses regarding the Sabbath in verses 20-21 do indeed indicate we should keep that Sabbath even if it's on the last day, then the words Matthew 24:22-26 must also apply to us in the last days as well.
Then what is the WMSCOG going to choose? Insist we need to keep the Sabbath till the end thus accepting that they are directly going against the words of Jesus. Or insist the words Jesus spoke about false prophets and Messiahs don't apply to us in the last days which would imply we don't need to keep the Sabbath in the last days. You can’t have both.
To be clear, my argument is not about the Sabbath itself in this article, I promise we will devote future articles to this topic. I am talking about the insistence of the last days and how it should be applied to other verses as well in the context of Mathew 24, not just verses 20-21 about the Sabbath as the WMSCOG teaches.
You can’t have both, the bible does not work that way. You can’t just pick and choose whatever fits your narrative. Isn’t that what Babylon does with Sunday, Christmas, Cross, Easter etc? There is a saying “you can’t have your cake and eat it too”.
Basically meaning that once you have your cake, you can’t eat it. Because if you do eat it, you no longer have a cake. You can have one or the other, not both.
Let's refer to the Green Book really quickly. I will be referring to the severely edited and altered English only version. Open it to Chapter 11 “About Jesus” page 74. Ahnshanghong groups together a few verses.
Isaiah 40:10-11, Micah 1:3-4, 3:1, Daniel 7:13-14 and Isa 66:15-16. He then writes and I quote “In the above prophecies, the lord is to come in the flesh to teach His people the truth and pronounce judgement on the false churches and evildoers, at His first coming and at His second coming as well. There are some prophecies about the Last Judgement, but what is more urgent is the prophecies about Jesus’ second coming.
Here Ahnsahnghong says that Isa 66:15-16 should be considered God’s coming in the flesh to judge the churches. But doesn’t that contradict what the WMSCOG teaches? They teach this means God comes with actual fire and destroys the wicked. But not only does Ahnsahnghong contradict the WMSCOG but he actually contradicts himself a few chapters later.
Now open your Green Books to Chapter 15 “The son of man will come on a cloud” page 109. After Psalm 90 he writes and I quote. “When Jesus comes as the Last Judge, He is to come with fire and not on a cloud.
The prophet Isaiah wrote that Jesus would come with fire on the last day as it is written” Ahnsahnghong then quotes Isa 66:15-16, 1 Th 1:7-8, Heb 12:29, Mt 24:30 and Lk 17:22. Then he writes “In other words we will see Jesus coming in a cloud, but will never be able to see Jesus coming with fire. And Jesus says that He won’t find faith on the earth when He comes in a cloud”
So which one is it? Is Isa 66:15-16 God coming in the flesh to judge the churches that we can see or is it coming with fire to destroy the wicked that we can’t see? You can’t have both.
Again Jesus comes on the clouds. The bible never says Jesus comes in a cloud or like a cloud. Big difference. If I am wrong, feel free to post the verse in the comments that Jesus comes like a cloud or in a cloud and I will correct it.
Now lets see one more short excerpt from the Green Book. Chapter 16 “the appearance of false Christs” page 116. We will read after Isa 24:23, Ahnsahnghong writes and I quote “Therefore, the gospel [lightning]- light of life - will come from the east, Korea, and be preached to the whole world like lightning in a flash. Lightning represents that the gospel, which has not been accomplished for the past 1,900 years will be completed within 37 years.
If the Second Coming Christ is Ahnsahnghong and the restoration took place in 1948. Then the gospel should have been preached to the whole world and completed in 1985 when Ahnsahnghong died.
If the 37 years starts in 1964 which is the alleged establishment of the Church of God then the gospel should have been preached to the whole world and completed in 2001. If the gospel started in 1985 after Ahnsahnghong died then the gospel should have been completed and preached to the whole world in 2022.
How many more times should we keep moving the goal posts here?
Anyways I think the point has been made.
Last thing I would look to say about Matthew 24 is this. If Matthew 24 is referring to Ahnsahnghong in 1948 then there is a problem. First problem is with the fig tree, so go read that article if you have a minute.
Second problem is that if Matthew 24 was referring to Ahnsahnghong then it makes Jesus a liar, how? Mark 14:62, Matthew 26:64 and Rev 1:7 indicates that those who pierced him and the religious leaders will see him coming on the clouds of heaven.
Matthew 24:34 tells us that this generation will certainly not pass away until these things have happened and Rev 1:1 tells us that Revelation is about things that must soon take place. If you read Isaiah 19:1 clouds can refer to God’s taking action against a nation.
Also the destruction of the Temple which is God’s dwelling place on earth is seen as an end times event.
This is my opinion, but in short Matthew 24 was mostly fulfilled in 70 ad. when considering the above information especially the signs of judgement described in the sun, moon and stars we can gather the following. There were war (jewish roman wars) rumors of wars, earthquakes etc before the destruction of Jerusalem finally in 70 ad.
Jesus coming on the clouds refers to God’s judgement of Israel for rejecting Jesus and not listening to Jesus warnings. God used the Roman empire to carry out the judgement of Jerusalem in 70 a.d. Those who headed Jesus' warning left when Jerusalem was surrounded in 68 AD and were able to escape.
But as the bible said, the religious leaders and those who pierced him did indeed see him coming on the clouds (judgement), that generation certainly did not pass away before they saw the result of their sin. Could the later part Matthew 24 foreshadow the end times as well, absolutely, In fact I believe that is the case. But evidence suggests that it was mostly fulfilled 2000 years ago.
Otherwise how can Jesus say to religious leaders that they will see the son of man coming on a cloud. Otherwise how can those who pierced him see him coming on the clouds? Otherwise how can Jesus say that this generation will certainly not pass away until these things have happened? What does this generation mean if not the generation Jesus spoke to 2000 years ago?
Now for the conclusion I will keep it short and sweet. From what I have seen in the holy scriptures the second coming has not happened yet. When it does happen you will see the son of man coming on the clouds of heaven in spectacular fashion to judge the wicked with fire and gather His holy people all at once.
You will not miss it. I know I didn’t mention Luke 18:8 about Jesus not finding faith. That is very simple. It is like this, if I ask my daughter yes I am going to the store to get groceries quickly, but when I return will I find your room clean? What am I implying? Two things, first if her room isnt clean she needs to clean it and if it is cleaned currently she needs to keep it that way until I return as I will inspect it.
It is the same with Jesus, they will get justice and quickly but when the son of man comes will he find faith? It means 2 things, if you don’t have faith get it, if you have faith keep it until he returns.
To put it simply it is a warning of losing faith before he comes.
I’m sure there are still many things you are still curious about. We will go over Melchizedek, Elijah, Rider on the White Horse and others later. This article is already ridiculously long and drawn out.
One thing I want to say before I conclude the blog though. I'm going to be talking directly to WMSCOG leaders and current members.
I know that you pray for the end of the world or at least look forward to it. Have you ever thought about what that means according to WMSCOG doctrine? It means your family, friends and everyone who you hold dear, at least those you haven't cut off yet, will be destroyed in the most horrific manner.
You teach that their flesh will rot while they are standing, their eyes will rot in their sockets, their tongues will rot in their mouths. That because they were Babylon, Sun God - Satan Worshipers and didn’t join your church, they are going to get what they deserve right? They also teach that you are going to watch this terrible thing happen to your family with your literal eyes and that it won’t come near you. If you fail to bring them to church their horrific death is your fault right?
I ask you this, is that normal?
You know what I pray for? That you see the light and realize what the love of God is and the peace He offers really is. The actual peace that transcends all understanding that Paul talks about. The love of if the ocean was ink and the sky a scroll and every man a scribe by trade could not write, if they could they would drain the ocean dry. Do you really feel that love right now? Do you really feel that peace? I pray you get your soul, mind and freedom back.
That is it for this blog post. Please like, share and let me know if you have any questions at all. We will see you on the next one. Thank you and God bless you.
